These Drawings
are inspired by my daughter’s prolific nature. As a small child just exploring and having fun with color and different types of media, and realized that it was time to just put the chalk to the paper and express my feelings. Taking the decision of what I should make and just creating for creation’s sake lets out all fun work.
Sharing the pieces have been helpful and brought connections to people even though they were my vulnerable ideas. Growing with a family has fueled a lot of [maybe] [haughty] philosophical thought, and my current work falls within my thread of abstraction and ambiguity to evoke, even, a different meaning than I may have intended.
It’s been ironic to watch my kid grow and become more self aware, and tamper her care free art for more objective pursuits as I’ve tried to push myself to let go . My hope is a catharsis that I can disperse while I grease my fine art gears and maybe put some fresh art on folks’ walls in the process.
Come see the work this weekend at The Art Explosion Saturday and Sunday 11-6pm.
